Cima Mehr was born into a family of artists and creatives whose constant influence triggered her incessant doodling and instinctive drawing.  So, it was only natural that she would choose to study fine art at California College of Art in Northern California, and continue on to study fashion Illustration and life drawing at San Francisco Academy of Art.

Her passion for fashion and working with models grew stronger, leading her to the decision to move to New York and study Fashion and Commercial Photography. Upon her return to California, she worked as a freelance photographer, doing model composites as well as fashion photography for fashion houses and boutiques, this experience eventually led to an exciting period working as a modeling instructor.

Not long after she moved to Southern California, her interest in art grew and she started painting full time while doing photography part time. During her studies at Santa Monica City College, she was the 1st student to win a competition for a mentor program and do a 20’x16’ mural in the Technology building in addition to a solo exhibition that same year.

Since moving to Arizona, she has organized open studios for artists at the University of Arizona, as well as teaching painting, life drawing and mixed media arts for the past 10 years at Pima Community College and various private art classes.

Cima’s intense love for teaching art has given her the opportunity to teach to students who went on to receive Scholarships from museums, schools and art academies. She particularly enjoys organizing exhibitions for her students to showcase their work and allow them a platform to be recognized for their talents.

Cima’s work has been in galleries in Los Angeles, Scottsdale, and Tucson.  Her Fashion Photographs, as well as her paintings, have been published in The San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner, Santa Monica College, Desert Leaf and Superstition Magazine

Cima has consistently been combining the three mediums: Photography, Fashion Illustration and Painting to produce unique multimedia art pieces and installations.
